The 10 SURPRISES OF CHRISTMAS
No gifts – just family fun!
This year I’m hosting Christmas Day at my house. We have a large family coming over and we’ve decided to make the gift giving less of a focus this year, and instead focus on quality time together. The kids love opening gifts so I decided to make “THE 10 SURPRISES OF CHRISTMAS” – 10 activities/games/crafts for us to do together as family, each one wrapped up in a pretty package. The kids will take turn opening the surprises, from youngest to oldest.
A box will be opened every 20 minutes! I’m going to let the kids set the timer and count down for each box.
All of the items that I’m providing links to are from Amazon, cause I am all about avoiding the stores in December (and many have free prime shipping!).

SURPRISE #1
The first gift box contains green party streamers, Christmas bows and misc decor. They will divide in teams and race to decorate one member of each team as a Christmas tree.
Items needed:
Touch of Color Crepe Paper Streamer Roll, 81-Feet, Emerald Green
Hallmark Holiday 3″ Bow Assortment (75 Bows; Red, Green, Blue, Gold, Silver)
Funny Party Hats Christmas Hats – Santa Hat – Elf Hat – Coil Santa Hat – Reindeer Antlers
SURPRISE #2
Ingredients to make Grinch Punch! The kids will work together to make the tasty drink! Combine Green Hawaiian Punch, with 2 liters of Sprite and 1 container of lime sherbet! You can put red dusting sugar on the cup rims to send it over the top!
Items needed:
Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush, 128 Fluid Ounce
Sprite – get 2 liters
And Lime Sherbet – I couldn’t find a link for Amazon, but you can find it at several grocery stores. I got mine at Market Street.
SURPRISE #3
Silly string party outside! The box will have a note for all kids to report outside before opening the box.

Pack of Party Streamer Spray String in a Can
SURPRISE #4
Saran wrap game! I’m gathering trinkets, cash and candies to wrap up in a giant ball of saran wrap. I have two Christmasy oven mitts they will take turns wearing to open the ball. The person to their left will be rolling dice….as soon as they roll a double, the saran ball o’ fun will pass to the next person. They get to keep whatever falls out on their turn.
Items needed:
Saran Premium Plastic Wrap – 100 ft – 3 pk

SURPRISE #5
Christmas SLIME!!!!! I have a table designated (with disposable tablecloth!) to make the one-day-only slime. 🙂 Play for a day….then it goes away!

Elmer’s Glue Frosty Slime Kit, Clear School Glue, Glitter Glue Pens & Magical Liquid Activator Solution, 12 Count

SURPRISE #6
Indoor SNOWBALL FIGHT!!!!!
Items needed:
Indoor Snowball Fight SNOWTIME ANYTIME 40 pk
SURPRISE #7
The person to open the candy canes in box #7 will have 5 minutes to hide candy canes in another room. Everyone will have 3 minutes to guess the total number of candy canes. Closest to the number wins a little prize!
Items needed:
Spangler Peppermint R&W Candy Canes 6-18 count boxes
SURPRISE #8
Items on a Tray. The kid who opens the tray will have 10 minutes to find trinkets or toys from the other room to place on the tray. Everyone can look at the tray for 5 minutes and then it goes away. Everyone has to guess all of the items that were on the tray, writing their answers on paper. The person who guesses every item correctly wins a candy prize.

Cole Cash! My nephew asked for a $100 bill with his face on it. So I’ve photoshopped the entire family on $100 dollar bills and we’re just gonna make it rain.
